Coos Canyon
3-C II Byron, Maine
This tourist stop isn’t really a canyoneering spot, but it is a very gorgeous canyon and a fun stopover on the way to more challenging canyons such as Angels Falls Gorge or Smalls Falls Gorge. This is a popular swim hole in the summer and a great stop for cliff jumping. Checkout the magnificent potholes and canyon-like features. From the Parking Lot hike down into the canyon and swim downstream under the large bridge. About 2/10 of a mile past the bridge the canyon turns and deepens. Here you will often find a myriad of individuals cliff jumping from both sides of the canyon here.
